A Career Built in the World's Most Demanding IT Environments
Tom Cloud founded 48 Technologies in 2012 to bring enterprise-grade IT operations to Dallas–Fort Worth small and mid-sized businesses. His career spans 25+ years leading technology at some of the world's largest financial institutions.
From 1999 to 2008, Tom was part of the technology organization at Lehman Brothers, where he led operations and integration work across the firm's global trading and banking businesses. After Lehman, he moved to Nomura's Hong Kong office as part of the post-acquisition integration, and later held technology leadership roles across offices in New York, Tokyo, Sydney, and Hong Kong.
Tom brought that Fortune-500 depth back to DFW when he founded 48 Technologies, applying enterprise-grade discipline — proactive monitoring, security-first architecture, standardized processes — to companies that historically only had access to reactive break-fix support.
Today, 48 Technologies serves 25–75 employee businesses across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, with particular depth in CMMC compliance for Department of Defense contractors and DIB suppliers navigating NIST 800-171 requirements.
Tom is also the founder of Vertex CTO Advisory, a fractional CTO firm serving private-equity portfolio companies.
